Types of Forklifts

1. Counterbalance Forklifts: Counterbalance forklifts are the most common type of forklifts used in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities. They have an extended mast that can reach high racking systems, allowing them to stack and retrieve loads at great heights. Reach trucks are equipped with outriggers that provide stability while lifting heavy loads. They are commonly used in warehouses and storage facilities.

3. Pallet Jacks: Pallet jacks, also known as pallet trucks or pump trucks, are manual or electric-powered vehicles used for moving palletized loads horizontally. They feature forks that can be inserted into pallets to lift and transport them. 8. Articulated Forklifts: Articulated forklifts, also known as flexi forklifts or bendi trucks, are designed for narrow aisle applications where maneuverability is crucial. They have a unique articulated chassis that allows them to bend in the middle, enabling them to operate in tight spaces. Articulated forklifts are commonly used in warehouses with very narrow aisles.

9. Industrial Reach Stackers: Industrial reach stackers are heavy-duty forklifts used primarily in ports and container terminals for stacking and moving shipping containers. They have a telescopic boom that can reach multiple container rows and lift containers weighing several tons. Reach stackers are essential for efficient container handling operations.

10. Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs): AGVs are self-driving forklifts that operate without human intervention. They use various navigation technologies such as laser guidance, magnetic tape, or vision systems to navigate through the facility and perform material handling tasks. AGVs are commonly used in large-scale warehouses and manufacturing facilities to automate repetitive tasks.
